About us
Renokratt is a spin-off of Tallinn University of Technology. It started in 2024 as Joosep Viik's master's thesis, supervised by Ergo Pikas. The thesis won first place in the Woodhouse Estonia Science Prize, and in the same year Renokratt won the AEC Hackathon in Tallinn.
In January 2025 we founded the company, and the first version of the application was built in the Beamline accelerator. Today Renokratt builds on TalTech's building data and calculation models, so that an apartment association can plan its renovation on data, not guesswork.

Why kratt?
In Estonian folklore, a kratt is a helper built by its owner to do the work the owner has no time for. Today Estonians also call artificial intelligence a kratt. Our kratt gathers the building data and does the calculations so that the association can decide.
